Recurrent miscarriage is defined as the loss of three or more consecutive pregnancies, and its frequency is 1-2% of pregnancies. The causal factors responsible for this condition are very heterogeneous, and the most common are anatomical (uterine malformations), immunological (antiphospholipid syndrome, thrombophilia, etc.), genetic (chromosomal abnormalities), endocrine (thyroid dysfunction, glucose metabolism disorders, obesity, etc.), as well as age.
Proper investigation, including a detailed personal and family history, ultrasound examination of the woman and blood tests for the couple, provides important information so that the cause of recurrent miscarriage can be diagnosed and treated appropriately.
